Avante Hosting does not respond to their support requests.
I am the co-owner of a server run on Avante Hosting. mc.dfmclan.com
The server was good for the first week. Then we could no longer access our control panel and our server went down. Server is still down after several days with no response from Avante Hosting.
We tried using their support email, Skpye, and Twitter and after 3 days have not received any response from this company.
While the company offers decent prices, they have horrible support response times. Server dependability and performance are poor at best.
Save yourself the time, money, and frustrations by avoiding Avante Hosting services.

Avente hosting is about one of the cheapest server hosting out there (said in a good way). If you ever need a cheap/small server, choose Avente Hosting. The server quality is great, the billing is great. You get invoices every month by Avente hosting reminding you to pay for the server. The only thing that I do not like about Avente, and something you have to watch out for is their support. They will sometimes not answer, and when you send a ticket to them and they do answer if you try to reply they never get your reply, so you have to send another support ticket. But right now Im trying to work out my invoice change with them and its been kinda hard. There skype, Chris, almost never listens to you. And when Chris does answer he answers in short bursts of kinda what you wanted to know but then not so much. Over all I rated them 4 star because of cheap prices and server quality.

AvanteHosting is a pathetic company…
Run by an egotistical 16 year old child, AvanteHosting is the WORST choice I ever have made regarding this server.
My relationship with Chris, the owner of AvanteHosting started a couple of months ago, when he offered ObsidianCraft some pretty good deals regarding upgrades from our old server host. Initially, suspicious of the level of professionalism displayed I refused to accept any of his offers. As time progressed I warmed to the idea of using AvanteHosting, especially after I had a 2 hour overheating issue on our old host.
Conveniently Chris offered a great deal soon after and I accepted. We ordered 3 servers and 2 smaller units to be placed in his network. We where ensured that we would get 1 gbps on all of the box’s which would help protect from ddos, plus if there was a ddos, AvanteHosting could block it. To add on, I was told about the 24/7 support that boasts short response times.
And then our woes started… Immediately after we accepted the quote of $1300 / month we where told that the price was only an “estimate” and that it really would be $1500. Myself, recognizing the price gaffing immediately, and after 3 hours of negotiation on the phone and threatening to back-out, we got the original price. Shortly later, we are notified that we would need to pay shipping fees?! It’s so ridiculous, but I accepted the $150 in extra charges for rush shipping on some custom parts.
The shipping – Incident #1 – So… In an effort not to bore, I shall summarize these events. We ordered overnight shipping, and we asked for a tracking number 37 times over the course of 8 days while we waited. Did we ever get one? NOPE. When we where the product was, Chris repeatably said his technician was busy installing a new switch they put in… As the days past, he then blamed it on FedEx, claiming the parts never arrived (a fact he never shared). He said he would file a claim with them, and get money back. (Never happened by the way) The servers where absurdly late, and it was a fight to even get a refund on my shipping fees.
With the servers finally up, I noticed that the box’s where not getting good speed-tests. Immediately, I contacted Chris:
He dismissed it and ensured me I was getting full 1 gbit:
So, trusting him, we ignored the speedtests… Then the bluescreens started. We have 2 windows servers for .Net and they were having serious reliability issues. I had to beg Chris to fix them, and that process took about 3 days.
Chris then began to tell me about new network upgrades he was making… He joked about how many 10gbit connections he has:
And then…
We where down for 8 days straight. Chris CLAIMED that we where getting hit at peak 16 gbit /sec. Here, at the beginning of the attack he said:
Ok, but guess how many graphs Chris showed us of the traffic? -> NONE
Guess how easy it was to contact him? -> He ignored me, while he answered other.
He REFUSED to unnull us, even though we added protection and a filtered external box… Instead he lured us into purchasing a 10bit adapter. He charged us $2000 setup fee and $500 / month. Again, we paid for overnight shipping.
Did we get it overnight? -> Nope, it took a WHOLE WEEK.
Did he give us a tracking number when we asked? -> No, just like before, he ignored my requests.
Finally, after all this downtime, I had a realization… Chris is making it all up.
My logic was as follows:
Fedex would NEVER be 7 days late on an overnight shipment.
Any reliable person would provide a tracking number for a late shipment, Chris did not.
We received no evidence of a DDOS attack ever happening, despite our NUMEROUS requests.
Then, thinking back it all made sense…
Remember those speedtests? At those speeds even the lamest of DDOS attacks could take us down.
If we weren’t getting full speed it might indicate his network is not as good as he claims.
Chris obviously ordered slower shipping on the order, In am attempt to take the extra I paid on shipping.
Chris then attempted to overclock the machines, but they were unstable because he din’t know what he was doing.
When we got hit with a small attack he nulled us because all of his clients went down… Why?
His networking backbone for his clients is NOT what he said.
The 10gbit was just more greed, he knew the real issue was he wasn’t honest about his current setup.
After being ignored again for 24 hours and still being down, I charged back the $2500 for the 10gbit and confronted him:
Guess what? My friend, Juan Pablo from McGodWorld was also down… Here’s what Chris said to him:
Chris is using a 1gbps line to connect his router to his switches!
That explains it! All of his clients would go down with even the smallest traffic spike, I submit that:
A) The attacks never existed or were massively exaggerated
B) The attacks took down his whole network because anything over 200 mbps would be harmful.
C) He has been lying to me the whole time.
Calling him out, he claims that this is the “norm” and throws a childish insult.

AvanteHosting gave us NO CREDIT, and today 5/26/12, claiming that the DDOS was our fault not theirs.
Chris, the incompetent kid, who I now know to be 16, fails to realize how he fraudulently misrepresented himself and lied repeatedly.
We are down once again for a hardware failure. the repair was supposed to take one hour… We are now sitting at 13 and GASP I am being ignored. I called his cell phone, he picked up and I said “Hello it’s Don” and he hangs up.
ObsidianCraft will be seeking a refund of 100% of our past two months with AvanteHosting due to the considerable damage they’re lies have caused. Failure to do so will result in legal filings.

Avante Hosting is the BEST!!!! I run a minecraft community and first off, I can’t tell you how many problems I’ve had trying to find a minecraft server company. I don’t know if I’m allowed to type competitors names but multiplay, servercraft, 123systems and pig saddle hosting were terrible providers. Their service was terrible and their prices were generally more expensive than Avante. I think Servercraft was $64.99 for 3GB while Avante, at the time of this post, only costs $50.00 for 4GB! I’ve only submitted one ticket and about 3 minutes after I submitted it a Rep from Avante actually logged into minecraft to see my problem first hand. It was a client side issue that he helped me identify. The weather has been very hot around here and some main transmission lines are down. The lag was not their fault at all. You cannot beat their support, service and pricing! Avante is defiantly the best in the business!
