just my $0.02 – so take it or leave it – but I dont like this forum theme, doesnt fit the site, looks very web 1.0 ish and is pretty hard to use.
a new theme would make it much better and easier to use. something that matches the site better too.
other then that – i certainly hope traffic picks up here and this turns to be a good forum

To be honest, if the template was nicer I"d actually use this forum. It turns me off so I dont even have an urge to post.

There's not a whole lot I can do with Simple-Press. I would love to use another forum software like Vbulletin or IPB but I'm not sure how to integrate user account login with the already in-place WordPress user database.

ah i should add i too like the new look – cleaner then the last theme – but still needs work to be a competitive forum.

Yea I've seen that hook before, but it's a hook for users of vbulletin. Since Gsprating already has nearly 2,000 members in a database. I'd rather not have everyone re-register on vbulletin. Send any tips you got!

i think just working on this theme would be fine then – the software does the job, not as well as ipb, but its good enough i think
work on the header part of the forums and clean up some of the topic area and itd be nice!
i just looked at ipb for another site of mine and its $150! damn

The money part isn't the issue, I'm willing to spend a decent amount to provide my members with a superior product. So if anyone knows of an excellent coder who can integrate WordPress user login database with a better forum software, send them my way please!
I think SimplePress is working fine for now, may need to upgrade in the future.

id leave it as it is just tweak the template more – header of the forum can be integrated better and change the buttons out and itd be just fine!
