I will start off by saying that everyone I actually dealt with at Multiplay support was friendly, but that is about all I can say for the support.

I purchased my Project Zomboid server on a Wednesday night, I chose Multiplay due to reviews, the amenities listed on their site and the cost. Immediately I logged into Clanforge and was given the error that the server capacity was full for my area and I would have to wait for my server to be added. This went against the boast of having instant set up on their website. As I am in tech support myself, I know that things can happen and while disappointed I just waited patiently for the server to be set up. I received an email a few hours later stating that my server had been setup and I could now log in to make changes. I began setting up the world for my friends and I to play in. I configured the .ini files and the .lua files that control things in the world to the settings I wanted and saved/reset my server. Everything in the Control Panel seemed easy enough to use and was a breeze to navigate. Once I got everything configured I started the server and handed out the IP address and port to all my friends. We went to log on but it gave us all the error that the server was not responding. I racked my brain trying to get it to work and ended up deleting the profiles I had made with the config files, stopping, starting, restarting, and I unfortunately did not find a way to Reset the server with a full wipe. This is when I submitted my first help ticket.

I was answered back in a kind manner, even if it took over 12 hours for a response, and I was informed everything was up and running and fixed. Once more I attempted to log onto my server and I received the same message, Server Not Responding. So I answered the ticket back and informed them it was not fixed. After another long wait of over 12 hours I was told that my ticket would need to be escalated and that it would be handled by a different tier of support agents. I also need to mention that I ordered the server on Wednesday night and it is now Friday that it is being escalated . . . in the afternoon. I decided to be patient again and waited all day Saturday before getting on to look at the ticket system. At this point I noticed that it was stated the escalation staff only works Monday-Friday 9am-6pm. So basically if you have a really serious problem . . . like the server you purchased doesn’t work . . . you will get no help on the weekends at all. This was a bit backwards to me and my frustration began to build. I was now four days into my purchase, still unable to get onto my server, still unable to use the product I purchased.

Sunday passed and into Monday we went until late Monday afternoon I received another message stating that the server was fixed and I should be able to play now. I was really excited and logged onto the server with the initial basic set up for the .ini/.lua files. I was able to log in as were my friends. Unfortunately since we hadn’t configured the server at all at this point there were literally zombies everywhere in hoards of 8-10. After peeing ourselves and logging out, I went in and configured the server to how my group would like it to be. I saved the changes, restarted the server and we logged back in . . . but nothing had changed. So I went back to the forums and help sections (which have very little on Project Zomboid in the way of help), and found a forum post where someone mentioned you have to Hard reset the whole world, which is something you as an admin cannot do. You have to submit another ticket and ask for them to do so.

This was a bit aggravating since I was supposed to have full admin control, but once more I tried to be tolerant and wait to see what happened. About six hours passes this time and I get a response that my server has been hard reset (full wipe), so I log in and it has not. The items I dropped on the floor of our safehouse are still there, going outside there are still dead zombies we killed when we first logged in to prevent being eaten. At this point I have waited from Wednesday to Monday and at every step my attempts to play on the server I purchased have been filled with glitches, misconfigurations, script failures, and capacity issues (all excuses I was given during my ticket process). So I responded once more and expressed that the server was -not- wiped and to please wipe it. Once more there was about a 12 hour delay in ticket response, so far the fastest time was six hours to reply, the longest being over the weekend, so I was not hopeful in getting a reply quickly. This agent stated he wiped it and after logging in I found he did, but before I logged in, I reconfigured the .ini files again and the .lua file so the world would take the changes. While the wipe was successful, the changes were not. I could not make the configuration files work at all.

At this point I was beyond frustrated, because it is now Tuesday . . . one day short of a full week after purchasing the server, and I still was not able to play the game in the capacity promised (full admin privileges, server being up instantly, server even working at all for half the week, etc.). So I responded back once more and addressed the issue, I asked if I was even able to change the configuration files, or if it was like the hard wipe and I had to have them do it for me. The answer given back was basically they typically don’t do configuration, but since I was having such a hard time they could do it for me. Prior to purchasing this server I ran a private server from my home computer. I had configured everything myself and I had no issues. I have recently moved to a rural area and the internet service here is severely lacking, hence my move to paying for a server. I knew my configuration files were done correctly, and after researching more on the forums I found I wasn’t the only one who was having this issue. Pretty much every Zomboid Server post was about either not being able to configure something properly, or not having full admin control.

At this point I had enough and asked for my refund, which is still being processed. I was informed it can take from 7 to 21 days to process my refund . . . 21 days . . . . I was blown away. I was also informed if I replied to the ticket anymore that I would lose my place in queue and I would have to wait another 7 to 21 days. I have yet to get a refund, and if I do I will post again stating how long that took to happen. Having worked for server hosts myself and major game labels, I have to say that I was disappointed at EVERY step in this process. The ONLY good thing I can say about Multiplay is that the Clanforge control panel was easy to navigate . . . if it nothing worked but starting and stopping my server. The Customer Support reps were always polite, but apparently not up to snuff when it came to actually fixing anything the first time around or responding to serious issues in a timely manner. The only reason I am giving them a 2 on quality is because of how polite they were.

I gave the Website a 3 because while it is easy to navigate and use, it boasted claims that were false and misleading. I will never use Multiplay again after experiencing such horrific lack of support and being unable to use the product I purchased after a week of waiting for fixes. I suggest not using them, but if you do . . . you have been warned.

I choose this Game Server provider because I would switch between BF3 BF4. I have had a couple of issues and support took a long time to respond and when they did they made it DICEs problem not theirs. I went to play on my server last night and could not even connect. I have asked for a refund and they say im out side my 5 day refund policy. I have 252 days left with them. Bottom line don’t rent from them. They have your money and don’t care!

DO NOT USE MULTIPLAY FOR ANY OF THEIR HOSTING SERVICES.

Ok, I’m not going to dress this up for you – these guys stink! DO NOT RENT FROM THEM!! I mean this. It takes 4 days for a ticket to be resolved or for you to even get a response back. The server crashes every 3 hours. You can have 5 players or you can have 40 players … crashes every time. Yes, the price is good, but don’t fall for their tricks. They do not give money back either. They send you e-mails stating that the server is fixed, when it’s not. No live support. No phone support. It is ridiculous! Trust me. I am the Founder of The Outsiders Clan. We have a BF 2 Server with these guys. We can’t keep anyone in the server more than 2 hours because it crashes constantly. Weapons won’t upgrade. Players aren’t getting their ranks. It’s like it’s not even a ranked server. I’m not ranting here, just being very truthful and honest people that work hard need their server to run smoothly. They are a joke!

Been using Multiplay for Unreal Tournament 99 for over 5 years.
Ok it’s an older game but we still get plenty of players joining our servers. The servers are reliable and the support for when the odd thing goes wrong is excellent. I particularly like the live support chat option on their website. You get to chat with someone directly to resolve your query ASAP. Recommend these guys!

After some initial issues getting the server going I’m now very happy with my server. I have a 4 man server and it runs with little to no lag. The clan forge website works quite well and they have 24/7 live chat if you have any issues. The professional I spoke with on the live chat when I had the initial issues was very professional and did a good job. Support is probably one of the most important things to consider when choosing a server that will be maintained by a company. In my experience, multiplay offers some of the best support I’ve found.

Mulitplay is the first Place where i have been renting gameservers and so far it´s been great. Some minor issue when i did hosting a Minecraft server in Sweden. But it was solved fast.

I´m renting a Ts3 Server as well for my clan a 50 slot. Never had a downtime so far. Hosted one in Sweden and one in US Seattle, works great.

Clanforge is a great tool but you need to get familiar with it. And it´s have alot of extra stuff for your Mineceaft server.

Support as well working great used their live help when i got lost in Everything… They did a great work with helping took around 15 min and my server was back and running.

So i can recommend their services. You will get a good deal and support for a cheap amount of cash.

I had a teamspeak server hosted with this company and after the second day we have already gone with another host. The server just crashed and crashed at one point it was twice an hour. But saying this you do get what you are paying for this company has their pricing at rock bottom so I can understand why they may get so much downtime as they may not be able to afford the hardware they need to complete the job well. Overall if you want a server that you don’t mind crashing a fair amount for one of the lowest prices on the internet go with this company!

Can’t fault these guys – i was having connectivity issues due to a DDoS attack on the server where my stuff was being hosted

One word with Jack from Multiplay Support and my server was moved to an unaffected server, with my settings and everything in mere minutes, fantastic stuff!

I’ve had a Minecraft server and Mumble server with Multiplay for a couple years now, and overall it’s been a good experience.

Rarely there might be a hardware failure, or some issue that prevents access for a day or so, but no huge outages in my experience. Every issue I’ve had (be they caused by myself or Multiplay) has been looked after promptly and professionally.

As far as the server itself, I’ve had one in Seattle and one in Los Angeles and the ping times seem to be similar. No lag that has affected game-play at all. Additionally, the Mumble service that comes bundled is handy for all the games me and my friends play, not just Minecraft.

The one concern I have is that the pricing is a bit on the steep side of the spectrum, but their support staff more than make up for it.

I’ve used them a few times before now, and right now for a Tekkit Lite server.

Sometimes their options around server configuration (once purchased) can be a little confusing, but there is always help on hand.

Stuff goes wrong on occasion, with any company, and my own minor blip allowed me to test out the companies response… which was fast, fantastically enjoyable and effective.

I’ve not used a great many other server hosts, but I unless there’s a significant price difference, I won’t ever again, as for me, customer service is the be-all-and-end-all of it, and these guys rock.

Especially Zeus!

I’ve had very good luck with Multiplay. I wouldn’t regard them as outstanding, but excellent is certainly a fair way to describe them.

I’ve been running a Feed the Beast mod Minecraft server with Multiplay for about 3 months now. I had tried seven (7) different FTB servers before starting my own server and every one had major lag issues. Most of those servers were hosted by Creeperhost. Creeperhost is cheaper to rent, but I get much smoother service with Multiplay.

They are in the the UK and aren’t always available for 24 hour live chat when it’s night here in the US like they claim. But most of the time someone is there to help you on the spot.

I don’t understand the horrible reviews above. That hasn’t been my experience with these people at all. I got one terse reply in an email that was from some grumpy tech, but the rest have been very helpful and friendly.

I give them a score of 8.5 out of 10. That’s not too shabby.

I started my community, 4 years ago, with multiplay. At the time I thought it was the best thing in the world. I did have a bit of issues navigating their website and panel. Then figured out that those weren’t issues, but that Multiplay actually limited a lot of what I wanted to do. I had to ask for them to install certain things, which I hated because I, and my members, wanted to try hundreds of new things to see what was fun and what wasn’t. A huge pain in the ass it was.

Server Quality – Can’t complain, the servers were really solid. Lag spikes came in packs when they came though. But were very uncommon.

Pricing – Overpriced and charge for a lot of features that they shouldn’t. Branding, Private/Public, … etc.

Website – Has one of the most confusing panel’s I’ve ever tried to use. I thought TCAdmin was difficult though, so MultiPlay’s panel is crazy to navigate in my opinion. And is missing lots of features that almost every other host has easily accessible.

Overall Service – Their Customer Service takes about an hour to respond, a bit longer than I’d like. Their servers are stable, they don’t move them around and change IP’S on you. Their pricing is almost double what I’d want to pay this day in age with all these other company’s out hosting Performance Servers for half MultiPlay’s Price. Their website in general is informative and easy to navitage, the panel on the other hand is a pain in the butt.

I would not recommend this host for any game!!! I currently have had my server with them for 3 weeks and have not had a single day without an issue. The main problem is the maps do not rotate and hang at the end of the “rotation”. I have had an escalated service ticket in place since day 3 and they still have not been able to resolve the issue. I have to restart the server every 4 hours witch is causing me to loose players, both members and independents. Multiplay has refused to give me a refund because I am past the 5 day limit and they won’t give a credit either for the time my server has had this issue. I am moving providers and wouldn’t recommend anyone using this provider unless they want nothing but problems and inadequate support for their server.

Multiplay is NOT where you want to spend your cash! I used Multiplay for my communities Mumble voice communication and aside from the cheap per slot price their service is absolutely awful. After a few weeks on their service we started to get nightly issues with our server including disconnects and voice tranmission failures for all users. Their tech support was unable to resolve the issue so after 3 months of back and forth emails. Finally I canceled the service, moved to a great new host, and requested a refund for months unused (184 days). They flat out refused a refund of those days.

This company has awful uptime, awful support, and god forbid you have a problem like mine kiss your hard earned money goodbye.

DO NOT USE MULTIPLAY FOR ANY OF THEIR HOSTING SERVICES.

Multiplay Gameservers is a great host, with lots of easy add ons and mods just waiting to get added to your server with a simple click, and their ClanForge Control panel is simple and great, without doubt the best and most simple host i’ve ever had! The Support team is always polite and passionate to solve whatever problems or requests you might have. What i really like is the Livesupport chat, where you in the matter of seconds can ask a question, and get an almost instant answer from the support team, witch aims to solve your problem at all costs.

Once, my server in Amsterdam, NL hosted by Multiplay ran into some troubles, so i was asked if i would like to either change to another machine in Amsterdam, or an whole other location. I got my whole server moved to Sweden in 10 minutes, and everything was just like i left it, only on a new machine with no issues.

The servers are fast and reliable, the pricing is fine and the support is great. I am not going to use any other game host ever again, Multiplay Gameservers is the best provider i’ve ever had.

The time I spent with Multiplay was a happy time.

The prices are very good and my server was setup within 5 minutes of buying it.

Support was helpful and replied within 30 minutes of submitting a ticket.

Server control panel was easy to navigate and simple to use. It responded fast and gave detailed logs and statistics.

Very recommended.

Don’t let multiplay pull you in with their low pricing.

Their support is dreadful. Ticket responses took as long as 4 days.

When BF3 came out I wanted to find a good ping server provider at somewhat of an affordable price. Multiplay offered that at an even better price then I expected. Then I needed support. In order for me to upgrade my server and add more slots I had to submit a ticket. That seemed like kind of a bad way of handling upgrades but that I could really care less about. 3 days later they finally took care of it. I’m sorry but the other 3 companies I’ve hosted games off of took best a hour. If it would have taken even a day I could of cared less but 3 days is unbelievable. I ended up canceling the server after a month at no fault of their own because our clan just couldn’t fill the server.

With SWTOR releasing shortly I wanted to get a Teamspeak server for my guild. I figured I would go through Multiplay just because I can’t really get too upset about a ticket taking too long to hold it against them.

I ordered the 20 slots server which included 4 SCALEslot slots. They claim is their special feature that allows you to fill your server and still allow more to join just in case. In every regard it’s worded so you believe you’re renting a 20 slots server with an extra 4 slots in case in fills up. I got my server and immediately noticed it had only 16 slots. I knew almost immediately when I saw it that they got over on me. It’s kind of their way of tricking you into believing you get bonus slots for using them when in actuality you are getting nothing special. You can actually see this on their site if you go to the voicecomm order page.

So I created a ticket and the response I received validated what I thought. I was only given a 16 slot server with 4 SCALEslot slots. They appologized and asked if I would like to upgrade the server. I told them I just wanted to cancel because trickery really doesn’t sit well with me. They told me to log in a cancel which I did the day they said to. They said they would put my account in queue to be refunded and it would take 7 – 14 working days. Yes 7-14 days to get a refund. It took seconds to setup my account and start the server up.

9 DAYS LATER I receive a response from them that unfortunately the server has been used constantly since it was purchased so they couldn’t offer me a full refund.

I never logged into the server after the first day it was setup. At best one of my friends thought we were using it from my original email i sent out when it was setup however if they actually cancelled the service why the heck was it still up.

I’m sharing my experience because I believe it will help others.

I purchased a BFH server from them two days ago. Upon installation, it was the wrong version. It took over 8 hours for them to reply to my ticket asking for the server to be updated. After they updated it, I got a different error. It took them 9 hours to reply to that ticket, stating that they “verified” the install. I tried again and still got an error, told them I could connect to other servers but they tried telling me it’s a client issue, when it’s clearly not because others tried connecting and got the same error. They ignored my request to reinstall the server, so I had to ask them again. Waiting for a reply now. My first impression is NOT good.

The control panel they use for their servers is also bulky and confusing and far inferior to that used by other GSP’s.

I have had nothing but great service all around from Multiplay. From gameservers, to voice servers, everything has run great. Excellent support, and admin functions. Clanforge takes a bit to get used to. Once you do, everything can be done from the push of a button. Editing files, adding mods, they have it all. Great support. All questions and tickets have been answered quickly, without any hiccups. Nothing short of a top notch GSP!

For the price I figured I’d try this company. This was nothing but a hasle. I was directed to they’re clanforge system that is useless, restrictive, and irrating. The system never updated correctly, as well as everything is predefined. The most interesting part was the fact that I never had access to the system. I couldn’t even direct myself to where you could edit your files. Lastly after about 10 -20 mins I requested a refund, this in turn immediately turned what service I had off and was directed to wait 7 – 10 days for a refund, currently I have not received any information of a refund and the support has been anything but helpful. For the price on a quick server with no modifications, or benefits, and completely restrictive, this is for you. However I found better services elsewhere.
